Divine goodies!

Doesn’t this cake look absolutely scrumptious?! It’s been awhile since I’ve baked anything of great delight to one’s tummy as I’ve been preoccupied with other things here in my corner of the bloggy world.  Maybe in a week or two I’ll throw together some homemade cookies or even that cheesecake that I keep saying I’m going to make. LOL

Until then, won’t you pull up a chair, have a hot cuppa with me and drool over the delightful cake and scones above? :D

My HOME is...

...exactly right where I'm at right now.  And where is that you ask?  Cozied up at my little antique desk, painting a WIP, sipping on a hot cuppa and watching the sun slowly settle down beyond the horizon for the day.

Thank you to all of my life bloggie friends and SS peeps for all of your encouragement and MEGA inspiration yesterday.  I feel the creative spark flowing once again.

((Raises her hot cuppa of English Breakfast to each of you))  :)

Sunday Sketches: Leter B

Photo sadly lost...

Another crazy, long week of this and that, but I did manage to complete my letter "B" this week.  Yeah!  I'm really enjoying the challenge of going through the alphabet and finding ways/words to be creative.

Hope everyone else is doing well.  Hugs to everyone.

My Letter "A"

OK....so I pushed myself yesterday afternoon to complete the letter "A" of the alphabet series that I mentioned last week.  Believe it or not, the "A" was a bit more challanging than the "Q".  Can you believe that?  Ha!  But, here we are and I'm already jotting ideas for the letter "B".

Wishing everyone a good week!

Sunday Sketches

Well, for a number of reasons, this is all I was able to complete for my SS this week.  Sorry everyone.  At least you can see I was doodling and capturing ideas on paper.

Hope each of you had a good week.

White lights and thankfulness

Tonight I'm all cozied up in a big chair at one of my favourite coffee shops.  A cool breeze makes its way through the open door and over to where I'm sitting, gently caressing my bare toes.

The little, white festive lights that drape misc store fronts and trees begin to brighten as the sun slowly sets for the day.  The music is even perfect.  Quite a relaxing evening here, tucked away against the cracked mustard yellow wall.

There have been some ups and downs the last few days, but I'm still here.  Rising above, regardless!  Uh huh.  That's me!   (Flexes her arm muscle)

Dad suffered another blockage yesterday, making it the second one in just a week.  Ugh.  He was incredibly down last night, barely able to speak to me because of his tears.  I felt helpless.  Sometimes, a phone call away is simply not enough during these difficult times.  I was beginning to feel hopeful myself with the news of some small but consistent weight gain, along with dad's physical strength increasing.  Still, I will keep my head up and be the strength he needs right now.

There has been another bump in life this week.  Disappointment over a project that has come to an end.  It wasn't a surprise in some ways, as I sensed the boat rocking off and on over the past few weeks.  I guess there were high hopes.  Nevertheless, I've prayed about it and believe where one door closes God will be faithful to open another.

In the meantime, there's a sock monkey to go on journeys with, a pups to snuzzle, hot cuppas to soothe the soul, artwork to inspire, flowers to smell, grass to tickle my bare feet - there are so many things in my life to be thankful for - and I am.

Sunday Sketches

I got the letter......."Q" and I'm LOVING it!

Yesterday, my long time high school friend Kate, tagged me with the above letter and peeps it was loads of fun!  In fact, I've decided that I'm going to complete the entire alphabet this way. It really challenged me not just in my answers but what doodles/sketches to include.

So, next week I will start with the letter "A" using the theme below:

Feel free to join me on this creative adventure each week until the alphabet is complete.

Happy SS!

Paint Party Friday

I'm not sure I'm pleased with the final results, but here's Ms. Lady and her friend.  It seems a bit busy at the bottom (no pun intended) after everything I've added.  Grr.

Anyway, it was fun putting an idea together.  If anything, it's more practice to improve my technique.  Happy Paint Party Friday! =)

Ms. Lady and Friend

I started painting my latest sketch that was shared a few days ago.  It's been a full week already, but hopefully I can get Ms. Lady and her friend completed soon.

Now that the storms have passed tonight, I'm off to cozy up with the pups and hopefully get some rest.

Sunday Sketches

NEW UPDATE:  Looks like I'm now having the "comment" issue that others have been dealing with lately as I'm not able to leave comments for anyone right now.  Grrr!  :(  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers regarding my father.

Hello and welcome to another week of Sunday Sketches.  I hope this little post finds each of you doing well.

Just another attempt to transfer an idea from my head to paper.  It has some additional work to be done, but it's a good start.

Happy SS!

HOME is...

This is my latest watercolour project.  I had intentions of making it into a greeting card, but now feeling like it would be a perfect framed art piece.  Simple but cozy. I'm looking forward to applying colour and seeing how it turns out.

On another note, I'd like to share some good news about my father -- he gained 5 pounds this past week.  It's not much but it's definitely a small step in the right direction.  Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.
